BREAK-UP CONFESSION!
Jennifer Lopez should still be on a high from her July wedding to Ben Affleck, but rather than display a blissful newlywed glow, the singer has made a shocking confession no-one saw coming.
In a new interview, J.LO, 53, opened up about how the end of her first engagement to Ben in 2004 was to blame for her ensuing failed romances with Casper Smart and Alex Rodriguez, and her doomed marriage to Marc Anthony.
“Once we called off that wedding 20 years ago, it was the biggest heartbreak of my life, and I honestly felt like I was going to die,” J.LO said.
“And it sent me on a spiral for the next 18 years where I just couldn’t get it right.”
The stars realigned for J.LO and Ben in 2021, with the pair tying the knot just over a year later after they rebooted their romance.
“Now, 20 years later, it does have a happy ending,” J.LO gushed. She added “It’s even better than the first time”.
Still, that doesn’t mean there isn’t some trouble in paradise. The couple were seen looking agitated following a date night in New York City on November 25. The outing came just as one Hollywood source claimed: “There’s a real worry among their friends that they may not make it in the long term.”
Causing havoc is said to be their “bullish” mothers, Guadalupe Rodrigues and Chris Affleck.
In fact, the womens’ habit of “butting heads” is set to make for an incredibly stressful holiday period for the blended families.
“J.lo’s mum is incredibly close with her and Ben. She’s championed their reunion … but the same can’t be said for Chris, or Ben’s other relatives,” explains the source.
