LETHAL LOVE TRIANGLE
Kay Parsons and Rebecca Sears were more than just neighbours – they were friends and colleagues too.
Their sons had been in Little League together and their husbands would often join them for a game of mixed doubles tennis.
Sears appeared distraught when Kay was murdered in her home on a suburban street in Georgia, USA, in March 2009. Kay’s house looked as if it had been robbed, and the killer had used a hammer and baseball bat to beat the mum to death.
The following night Sears called police claiming she had also been attacked and shot in the leg while leaving work.
Turns out this was just part of a bizarre plot to derail the authorities from discovering the real killers – Sears and her son Christopher Bowers.
Sears had been having a affair with Kay’s husband and wanted to get rid of her romantic rival, so they staged the burglary together. Bowers brutally
murdered Kay then shot his mother in the leg.
The family duo pleaded guilty to the grisly murder and will spend life behind bars without parole.
