With her penchant for pigtails, Twinkies and her boyfriend Putzie, Jamie’s portrayal of quirky Jan was utterly likeable.

Interestingly, Jamie, now 75, was the only original cast member of the 1971 stage musical to reprise the same role in the film adaptation, which she says was “a joy to do”.

Continuing to act, Jamie’s recent TV credits include Ray Donovan and Monk. Nowadays, she also works as an acting coach, and shares two children with her husband Stephen Foreman.
