BRUCE’S FAMILY PREPARE TO SAY GOODBYE
THE AILING STAR’S FAMILY MADE HIS BIRTHDAY ONE TO REMEMBER
Bruce Willis spent his recent 69th birthday being showered with love and affection by the women who love him most.
In honour of the occasion, the actor’s ex-wife, Demi Moore, and their three daughters – Rumer, Scout and Tallulah – took to social media to share heartfelt messages and tributes to their beloved ‘BW’ and ‘Daddio’. Eldest Rumer, 35, also uploaded a carousel of old and recent family photos along with a lengthy caption filled with sentiment.
“I love you so deep in my bones I don’t know how my muscles hold,” Rumer wrote to her dad.
Meanwhile, a birthday post from Bruce’s current wife Emma, 45, expressed how much she and their two young daughters Mabel and Evelyn “simply adore him”. Emma praised her husband as a “true gentleman” and “the gift that keeps giving”.
However, a source says the outpouring of adoration and positivity masks the grim reality that the family know full well this could be Bruce’s last birthday.
The revered actor’s health continues to fade following his shock diagnosis with frontotemporal dementia. A source confirmed to Intouch magazine that the disease has now “progressed quickly” with worrying signs indicating his health is slipping away.
“He can’t communicate anymore, and he has difficulty recognising
people,” says the source.
The action hero has also reportedly lost his appetite and is rapidly losing weight, with the source suggesting this could indicate the end stage is nearing.
“Bruce’s family and friends are extremely anxious because he doesn’t express hunger much,” says the source. The source says Bruce’s loved ones are focused on ensuring Bruce is “getting enough to eat” and “not skipping mealtimes”.
Even Demi, 61, who was married to Bruce for 13 years, has reportedly been doing research and reportedly offering suggestions on “holistic healing and healthy foods”.
“Emma welcomes [Demi’s] advice because Emma knows it comes from a place of love,” the source adds.
While it’s an extremely difficult time for the family, the insider says that “everybody’s staying positive about Bruce’s future”. [The family are] hopeful that he finds some kind of comfortable plateau or even, God willing, shows signs of improvement,” says the insider.
Bruce’s small but “tight” circle are also committed to living in the moment and counting their blessings for every day they get with him.
“Those who love Bruce want to cherish every last moment with him,” confirms the source. “They all realise this could be his last birthday.
“No matter how much time Bruce has left, they want him to be surrounded by love and happiness.”
