1 WELCOME WITH A WREATH

When it comes to playing host, it’s all in the details. To create an inviting atmosphere from the get go, Justine suggests adding a wreath at the door so your guests can instantly feel welcome. “I’m always drawn to lots of greenery [and] earthy and natural looking wreaths with pastel tones,” she says. “Wreaths with cute details such as eggs, bunnies, chicks or flowers will definitely signify Easter is coming.”

2 TREES AREN’T JUST FOR CHRISTMAS!

“Decorating a tree for every season is becoming popular in the styling world,” says Justine. Instead of letting your artificial tree gather dust until December, why not decorate it throughout the entire year? “Style it

accordingly for every season for a visual statement and something unexpected and fun.” Need some Easter inspiration? Justine suggests dressing the tree in pretty ribbons,

faux floral, hanging carrots, Easter egg ornaments or cute bunnies. Choose a classic theme like pretty pastels or mix it up with bold and vibrant palettes.

Simple touches like placing decor and figurines throughout the house can make a huge difference to your space. The best part is that it doesn’t require much work! “Display decor on hall tables, coffee tables or mantles – it’s an easy way to spruce up your space and create a festive vibe,” explains Justine. “Think

little ceramic bunnies, eggs, and floral arrangements. Grouping all three together can create a magical Easter vignette.” If you’re feeling creative, why not make your own decorations? Retailers like Kmart and Spotlight have great plywood pieces ready for decorating. Morgan & Finch Ceramic Rabbit Tabletop, $34.99, bedbathntable.com.au

They’ll add a personal touch to your home plus, it’s a great school holiday activity for the kids.

4 TABLE TOPPERS

A fun part of hosting duties is tablescaping.

“We tend to gather with friends or family for a nice meal at Easter, so why not have a beautiful table to sit at?” suggests Justine. She recommends using a tablerunner as the base and then adding decor and centrepieces to set the mood. “This could be a simple as seasonal floral in pretty vases with some candles, or fun trinkets like Easter bunnies or pretty eggs,” she adds. “The key with a centrepiece display is to play with the height levels of your objects. If you can have [a variety of different sized] objects or vases in your arrangement it’s sure to look intricate and fun too.”
