THAT’S TRULY A- MAZING!

SANDRINGHAM ESTATE IS GETTING A MAKEOVER!

-

King Charles is making some upgrades to the royal family’s much- loved country retreat, Sandringham Estate. Ahead of the Northern Hemisphere summer, the Norfolk property will be upgraded to feature a

‘ Lower Maze Garden’.

A video post shared to the official Sandringham Estate Instagram account confirmed the latest addition and offered a sneak peek at the intricate maze. The caption explained that “work is now underway” on the project and is due to be completed in upcoming months.

The new outdoor feature will be located “adjoin[ ing] the Topiary Garden which was added to the West Lawn last year” – and was described as “another formal aspect and horticultural dimension for visitors to enjoy”.

King Charles, 75, officially inherited Sandringham from his late mother Queen Elizabeth II following her passing in 2022. However, the keen gardener and environmental advocate had already been handling the running operations of the property since 2017.

He previously told Country Life he’d made it his personal mission to convert Sandringham Estate into a “fully organic operation”. In the same 2021 interview, Charles explained that various “sustainable farming” methods were being put

“into practice at Sandringham”.

It’s unknown if the green- thumbed King, who is currently receiving treatment for cancer, has been involved in the new maze project.

The he King and Queen Camilla’s second home is a popular tourist attraction open to visitors at certain times over the year ( although guests are only allowed to view select rooms inside the residence). The property also holds sentimental value to the royal family, as it’s the site of their annual Christmas celebration.
