New Idea

‘ WE’D LOVE OUR OWN TV SHOW!’

-

Move over, Thelma and Louise … there’s a new fierce duo in town! Lucinda Light and Andrea Thompson might have signed up to Married At First Sight hoping to find a soulmate, but they left the show with something even better – a soul sister!

Indeed, the besties say the experiment ended up being ‘ friendship at first sight’ for them, as they connected with each other from the word go.

“We’ve just loved each other and had each other’s backs,” Lucinda, 43, tells us. “We chat a couple of times a week. Andie is one of life’s unexpected treasures.”

Andrea, 51, adds that she knew “from the second” she met Lucinda that she was going to be someone “special”.

“I’ve never had such an instant love for someone,” she explains.

For both Lucinda and Andrea, MAFS proved tumultuous when it came to their respective grooms – Timothy and Richard. Lucinda says “she couldn’t have gotten through it” without Andrea’s support.

She adds she was “surprised” that their friendship wasn’t touched on that much on the show. For Lucinda, it was “one of the most” significant things that happened during filming.

Andrea and Lucinda tell us they are both creatives who are “a little on the quirky side”. Subsequently, they find one another a “crack up” and consider themselves of “the same tribe”. They find happiness in doing yoga or simply sitting and drawing together with music on in the background.

When it comes to whether fans will ever see them together on television again, Andrea says she and Lucinda have been discussing “things we could do together”. This includes an idea that utilises their creativity and design senses.

“Perhaps styling?” Andrea muses.

For now though, they remain “conversations”, which are mainly done over Facetime. Lucinda recently relocated to Victoria from New South Wales, while Andrea is in Queensland.

One thing is certain for both the women…

“I went into the show looking for love and

I walked out with the love of my life in Lucinda,” Andrea shares.
