New Zealand Classic Car

Changing times

- Ashley Webb Editor

In last month’s issue, I wrote about how I’d ignored my bucket list for so long until Garry Boyce’s Inca Rally story (read part two in this issue) prompted me into dusting it off and commencing a planning strategy to start ticking a few more boxes. I was delighted by the fact that, as result of my editorial, a few others have also been inspired to put pen to paper and jot down several must-do items on their lists. I truly hope you all get to achieve your goals and fulfil your dreams, wishes, and aspirations in the future.

On another note, there are a few changes afoot here at head office. Todd Wylie, editor of our sister publication NZV8 magazine and managing editor across all our motoring titles, has decided to move out of the big smoke and head south to Wellington with his family for a lifestyle change. I have worked alongside Todd for the best part of 13 years, and his help has been invaluable over the last year or so as I’ve transitioned into the editor’s role of this magazine. All is not lost, though, as Todd’s still keeping on with his involvement with NZV8, and will also be able to provide valuable opportunities for New Zealand Classic Car in the lower North Island as well.

Secondly, Parkside Towers is also on the move. After about 10 years at our Grey Lynn address, we will move even closer into the city. As of May 1, we will be located on Upper Queen Street in a purpose-designed environment to complement creativity for our editorial, online, and design teams, which are vital elements to the ongoing success of our publications.

And last but not least, you will have noticed several articles written by Lachlan Jones over the last few months. I’ve been somewhat remiss in formally welcoming Lachie to the team after he joined us on a part-time basis to assist me in my role. Lachie brings with him a wealth of knowledge and a fresh new perspective, particularly when it comes to ‘modern classics’ as well as new vehicles. He also contributes to our website themotorhood.com and other digital-media platforms. I’m looking forward to working more with Lachie, as we have a few plans up our sleeve for future issues that I’m sure you will enjoy. Till next month …
