MAN WITH A VAN

While TWR was working on the V6 for the XJ220, it needed a road-going test vehicle. The XJ220 hadn’t been finished, so the engineers found another mule to transplant the test version into: a Ford Transit. The 404kw twin-turbo V6 was mounted in the centre of the van alongside extensive Xj220-centric running gear. The Transit still exists and is occasionally rolled out for events such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed, complete with empty chip packets littering the dash like a proper van should have.
