New Zealand Classic Car

READERS’ WRITES

-

In September 1998, we were taken by friends to the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust’s new museum, which was due to open. There was a general air of chaos, and we got involved in selecting cars from Jaguar’s Browns Lane storage facility and driving them around to the museum, and then arranging the layout in the museum. Of particular interest were the line-up of unsold XJ220S all wrapped up. I believe that ultimately one dealer bought this remaining stock, which were available for something like £114K. Also of interest was a large number of Jaguar prototypes in Carcoons, some of which I was not allowed to photograph at the time.

The line- up of XJ220S must have been an amazing sight. Thanks for sharing, Keith. AFW
