THE DBX, OR THE SUV YOU NEVER KNEW YOU NEEDED

The ‘DBX’ is the name officially confirmed for the new Aston Martin SUV. It is to be built at the marque’s brand-new facility in Wales. Two EX-RAF aircraft hangars have been converted to give this new SUV a flying start into the fast lane, with Aston Martin advising that the vehicle has now commenced final testing preproduction. Before it is released in 2019, it will be tested on all types of terrain — everything from the high speed German autobahns and James May’s beloved Nürburgring to high alpine passes, scorching deserts, and frozen wastes. All this so that its new owners can drive across town, or over whatever else may be in their way, to get to their favourite cafe for their own frozen dessert.
