LOCAL MARKETPLACE
Twelve years ago, Ali had a dream. Inspired by his father’s passion for cars, he wanted to follow in his footsteps of supplying classic cars to his enthusiastic customer base. Over the years, Ali and Monica, of Azak Cars in Auckland, have built a reputation for delivering quality cars to the New Zealand market. Sourcing vehicles from overseas can be a problematic pastime for New Zealand collectors, but Ali and his team take all these worries away.
While catching up for a coffee, Ali tells us, “The word is slowly getting out there about what value we can offer the local classic market.”
With an eye for quality, Ali is quietly going about his business and people are
starting to take note.
A look around Azak Cars’ spacious modern showroom in East Tamaki reveals a number of highly desirable classics on display.
“We select every single vehicle ourselves, and take care of each one and its quality,” Ali explains.
Importing vehicles from overseas can have its challenges, but Ali takes care of this right through to compliance.
Two interesting cars currently for sale at Azak Cars
The Paul Bracq–designed ‘Pagoda’ W113 is so named because of its distinctively shaped hardtop. The W113 measured the 190 SL’S weak performance against the 300 SL’S prohibitive cost. This resultant 2.8-litre, fuel-injected, six-cylinder beauty offers the chance to have an SL parked in your driveway.
This extremely rare car is left-hand drive, in great exterior and interior condition, and is available to drive away today.
The Rolls-royce Silver Cloud II was introduced in October 1959. It was the first Rolls-royce model to exceed Bentley in production numbers, with 2716 built between 1959 and 1962; 299 of these rode on the long-wheelbase chassis. The car was also the first to utilize Rolls-royce’s aluminium, 6.2-litre, 172kw, V8 engine, which had been in the planning stages since 1947. The introduction was so significant that the engine itself was displayed with the new Rolls-royces at the London Motor Show.
Effortless speed and extreme quietness with a new V8 engine, this great investment opportunity is available for viewing.
Other vehicles worth mentioning are Ali’s large collection of Mercedes-benz SLS — possibly the largest collection for sale in New Zealand — and highly desirable modern classics such as the Nissan GT-R32 and R33. All Azak classic cars are stored under cover in the showroom, away from the elements.
It would be Ali and Monica’s pleasure to welcome you to their showroom, or you might simply want the team to source a rare and exotic vehicle for you.
