FAST FIX FOR STICKY STUFF

-

If you put serious miles on your odometer, then bugs and tar are likely to be promoted to swear words in your vocabulary. This will be especially true during week-long events when you’re trying to keep your car clean for different photo opportunities each day. Removing these contaminants as soon as possible is the best way to avoid damage to your paint. Meguiar’s Heavy Duty Bug & Tar Remover is a handy ally in these circumstances, as it can be used without needing to find water for rinsing it off. Like many Meguiar’s products, the application could not be easier. Simply spray on the affected area — don’t stress about overspraying, as it’s safe on all paint and exterior trim surfaces. Leave the foam to soak in. It has great dwell time on the panel, allowing it to rehydrate the bugs and loosen tar. Leave it for a minute before either rinsing the residue off or wiping it off with a clean microfibre cloth if there’s no water to hand. It’s ideal if you’re just pulling up to a car show and shine.

The hands-free approach is also the safest, as it will lessen the chance of damaging your paintwork, possibly even working contaminants in while trying to manually loosen them with a brush or sponge during washing. If you have water on hand, or you are carrying out a normal car wash, apply Meguiar’s Heavy Duty Bug & Tar Remover after first rinsing the car. Washing it off is also preferable to the more hands-on cloth approach, if water is available.
