Where Are You Really From? SBS, 7.30pm

Comedian Michael Hing grew tired of people asking him, “Where are you from?” His family migrated to Australia from China more than 100 years ago, so it was an annoying question that was hard to answer. This thoughtful and playful series explores how migrant families in regional areas deal with the pervasive question as Hing gets to know the community and hears their stories. Tonight, he is in Woolgoolga, NSW, which has a population of 4500 people. It is home to the country’s largest regional settlement of Sikhs and the community was founded by migrant banana farmers from India before Federation.

The Living Room WIN, 7.30pm

It can be hard to let go of a holiday, and it seems

can’t be convinced to leave Hawaii just yet. Tonight, Chris checks out the Hawaiian island Kauai, where he meets a giant tortoise. He also visits Makauwahi Cave Sinkhole, which is home to countless fossils. Miguel (pictured) demonstrates how easy it is to make an Instagram-worthy bowl: he whips us a healthy, traditional Hawaiian Poke salad. Barry learns the secret art of surfboard shaping with a master, Pat Rawson. Sadly, Peter Walsh can’t be on the beach for his segment. Sometimes, someone has to miss out. He helps us identify what type of “clutterer” we are.
