There’s in­spi­ra­tion aplenty with lush scenery and buck­ets of knowl­edge. Jane Ed­man­son ex­plores a breath­tak­ing gar­den in Gipp­s­land, while Josh Byrne chats with a le­gend of botany. For week­end chores, tune in for the handy hints cater­ing for your area.

Where Are You Re­ally From? SBS, 7.30pm

Co­me­dian Michael Hing grew tired of peo­ple ask­ing him, “Where are you from?” His fam­ily mi­grated to Aus­tralia from China more than 100 years ago, so it was an an­noy­ing ques­tion that was hard to an­swer. This thought­ful and play­ful series ex­plores how mi­grant fam­i­lies in re­gional ar­eas deal with the per­va­sive ques­tion as Hing gets to know the com­mu­nity and hears their sto­ries. Tonight, he is in Wool­go­olga, NSW, which has a pop­u­la­tion of 4500 peo­ple. It is home to the coun­try’s largest re­gional set­tle­ment of Sikhs and the com­mu­nity was founded by mi­grant ba­nana farm­ers from In­dia be­fore Fed­er­a­tion.

The Liv­ing Room WIN, 7.30pm

It can be hard to let go of a hol­i­day, and it seems

can’t be con­vinced to leave Hawaii just yet. Tonight, Chris checks out the Hawai­ian is­land Kauai, where he meets a gi­ant tor­toise. He also vis­its Makauwahi Cave Sink­hole, which is home to count­less fos­sils. Miguel (pic­tured) demon­strates how easy it is to make an In­sta­gram-wor­thy bowl: he whips us a healthy, tra­di­tional Hawai­ian Poke salad. Barry learns the se­cret art of surf­board shap­ing with a master, Pat Raw­son. Sadly, Peter Walsh can’t be on the beach for his seg­ment. Some­times, some­one has to miss out. He helps us iden­tify what type of “clut­terer” we are.
