NO MORE RED FACES

Dennis’s hire boats have all the conveniences when you have to go

WHAT do you do when you’re out on the water for a few hours, and nature calls? Depending on the craft you’re in, that can be awkward. But if you’ve spoken to Dennis Algieri, from Ready 2 Go Boat Hire at Noosa Marina, you’re going to be spared a potentially embarrassing situation.

That’s because Dennis’s hire boats all have toilets. Simple, but very effective.

Three years ago, the Tewantin resident decided to break from a 20-year real estate career and “just do something a bit different”.

“Lo and behold, it’s turned into a business,” Dennis said. “It has become a lot more than I thought.”

Dennis started three years ago with three boats. He added one, then another in November, and it just keeps growing and he now has 10 boats.

“And they’ve all got real burner barbecues and pizza ovens,” he said.

Three barbecue pontoon boats are 12-seaters, while two more are eight-seaters, as well as four Haines Hunter cruisers and one river fishing charter boat, and they are all fully equipped for an easy day out.

“So you can hire/drive, and there’s no boat licence required,” Dennis said.

“I stock my boats very well, with kitchen utensils, oil, paper towels and all you need.

“Just bring your food, get on board and go.

“Then have fun fishing, barbecuing, swimming on the sandbanks.”

The on-board toilets are clearly a winner and a key factor in the business’s rapid growth.

And now Dennis has opened the Little Pink Pig coffee/chocolate shop, which was known as Chocolat, in the marina selling chocolates and “little pink pig” cakes.

And, importantly, it will sell frozen pizzas – which means clients booking a boat can stock up on pizzas for the trip right there at the marina.

“All the Ready 2 Go boats have toilets, and running water to wash your hands – nobody (else) has that,’ Dennis said.

Dennis said his local community gave him a lot of support and encouragement.

“I want to say thank you to Tewantin and all the locals who have supported me over the last three years. “I appreciate it;. if it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t be here. “It’s due to them I’ve been able to get more boats.” Dennis gets all types of clientele “but it’s the locals who support me”.
