Wild chase charges
POLICE have revealed a vehicle used in a dramatic police chase on Tuesday was allegedly stolen from Kingsway City Shopping Centre in Madeley on Friday.
Four people have been charged over the chase that ended with a man allegedly brandishing a loaded gun at police after a crash on the Mitchell Freeway.
About 11.25am, police saw the stolen Toyota Kluger on Ferguson Street in Midvale. Police attempted to stop the car, but it is alleged the driver ignored the request and a pursuit commenced.
The Kluger travelled through various northern suburbs for about 30 minutes.
Police aborted the chase when the vehicle allegedly drove on the wrong side of Mitchell Freeway.
Just after noon, the Toyota Kluger collided with a BMW sedan on the Mitchell Freeway in Stirling and was forced to stop. It is further alleged the driver of the vehicle, who was armed with a firearm, ran from the vehicle.
He was apprehended by police a short distance away.
A 34-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with 13 offences, including possession of a firearm, two counts of aggravated armed robbery, two counts of vehicle theft and driving without a licence.
Three women (25 and two aged 26) were each charged with vehicle theft.
Two of them, from Beechboro and Ellenbrook, are due in Perth Magistrates Court on August 6.
A Bennett Springs woman is due to appear in court at a date not yet specified.
