Game to de­liver on cul­tural goals

FU­TURE mul­ti­cul­tural foot­ball prospects will show­case their tal­ents dur­ing West Perth’s In­ter­na­tional Round cel­e­bra­tions at Joon­dalup Arena on Satur­day.

Play­ers from the Ed­mund Rice Cen­tre’s Fe­male AFL Academy are to fea­ture in the cur­tain-raiser to the Fal­cons’ WAFL clash against Su­bi­aco. Ed­mund Rice spe­cial projects leader Joe Mo­niodis said it would be “an amaz­ing op­por­tu­nity to cel­e­brate the di­ver­sity of the game”.

“The academy high­lights the growth of tal­ent and aware­ness of the game among mul­ti­cul­tural fe­male youth and seeks to im­prove cul­tural aware­ness and un­der­stand­ing,” he said.

The cen­tre’s ju­nior teams – the Ed­mund Rice Li­ons and But­ler Fal­cons – will play at half-time.
