Shoes with a purpose

North Coast Weekender - - News -

HUNDREDS of sports shoes collected in Warwick have found a fitting purpose 600km away.

A campaign run by charity GIVIT has delivered 250 pairs of donated used and new shoes to Kalgoorlie-Boulder youngsters.

Warwick Stadium was the collection point for the shoes during the two-week campaign, supported by Stirling Senators Basketball Club, Warwick Workout and Warwick Women’s Workout.

GIVIT’s WA manager Travis Fitch said the region had significant levels of disadvantage, with many families struggling to provide appropriate footwear for school or sporting activities.

True Brothers Social Club is distributing the shoes. For more information, visit
