Ve­hi­cle stop leads to weapons find

PO­LICE have charged a man with weapon and drug of­fences fol­low­ing a ve­hi­cle stop in Wan­gara early Tues­day morn­ing.

Af­ter 2.10am on Septem­ber 4, of­fi­cers stopped a Holden Com­modore bear­ing false plates.

While search­ing the ve­hi­cle, they found methy­lam­phetamine, drug para­pher­na­lia, cash and stolen prop­erty.

Of­fi­cers then searched a house in Yanchep where they found a sawn-off shot­gun, am­mu­ni­tion, drug para­pher­na­lia and stolen prop­erty.

Po­lice charged a Yanchep man (23) with pos­sess­ing a firearm, fail­ing to en­sure safe-keep­ing of a firearm or am­mu­ni­tion and be­ing un­li­censed to pos­sess a firearm or am­mu­ni­tion.

Other charges in­clude pos­sess­ing stolen or un­law­fully ob­tained prop­erty, pos­sess­ing drug para­pher­na­lia in or on which there was a pro­hib­ited drug, pos­sess­ing drugs with in­tent to sell or sup­ply and steal­ing a mo­tor ve­hi­cle.
