Kalei­do­scope: Fes­ti­val of Light I Art I Food

World-class il­lu­mi­na­tion fes­ti­val, Kalei­do­scope, will again light up the Joon­dalup City Cen­tre with a bril­liant ar­ray of pro­jec­tions, art, light­ing dis­plays and per­for­mances from Thurs­day 1 Novem­ber to Sun­day 4 Novem­ber. The Joon­dalup CBD will trans­form into an ex­tra­or­di­nary won­der­land of il­lu­mi­na­tion over four nights, show­cas­ing Joon­dalup Li­brary, Cen­tral Park and other icons of the Joon­dalup land­scape in a whole new light. Now in its third year, this spec­tac­u­lar free event brings to­gether artists, cre­ators, en­gi­neers, set de­sign­ers, graphic artists, per­form­ers, vis­ual artists and the lo­cal com­mu­nity to col­lab­o­rate and cre­ate WA’s lead­ing light and tech­nol­ogy fes­ti­val. Last year’s fes­ti­val was awarded the pres­ti­gious Event of the Year Award at the 2017 Parks and Leisure Re­gional Awards for Ex­cel­lence, at­tract­ing more than 88,000 peo­ple to Joon­dalup over four nights. Ar­mistice Cen­te­nary Grant for City

The City has re­ceived Fed­eral Govern­ment fund­ing to hold a Re­mem­brance Day event to com­mem­o­rate the 100th an­niver­sary of the Ar­mistice of World War One. The City was al­lo­cated $27,902 un­der the Ar­mistice Cen­te­nary Grants Pro­gram to de­liver, in part­ner­ship with the Joon­dalup City RSL, a Re­mem­brance Day ser­vice at Joon­dalup War Me­mo­rial on Satur­day 11 Novem­ber. The grant will also as­sist the City in widely pro­mot­ing this im­por­tant oc­ca­sion and to de­liver a project al­low­ing school stu­dents to be more in­volved in Re­mem­brance Day in the weeks lead­ing up to the ser­vice.

Spring Mar­kets

Night two of the City’s 2018 Spring Mar­kets will be staged to­mor­row evening (7 Septem­ber) at Cen­tral Walk, Joon­dalup, 5.30pm – 9.00pm. The mar­kets fea­ture a va­ri­ety of hand­made and home­made prod­ucts as well as live en­ter­tain­ment, work­shops and demon­stra­tions. Two more mar­kets will be staged on Fri­day 14 and 21 Septem­ber.

Tri Cities Blood Chal­lenge

Res­i­dents and staff from the Cities of Joon­dalup, Wan­neroo and Stir­ling are cur­rently tak­ing part in the Tri-Cities Blood Chal­lenge to see which City can con­tribute the most blood do­na­tions. The City of Joon­dalup was proud to be the Tri Cities cham­pi­ons in both the com­mu­nity and cor­po­rate chal­lenges in 2017 which is tes­ta­ment to the gen­eros­ity of our lo­cal com­mu­nity and City staff.
