Youth Ag Council postponed until 2017
FUTURE Farmers Network (FFN) has postponed its annual Youth Ag Council (YAC) event in Canberra until the first half of 2017.
YAC was originally pushed back to late 2016 due to the drawn out election process and uncertainty within relevant government departments involved in the event.
After consultation with several industry groups it has been decided that the best time to hold the event is next year.
YAC is an open forum for young people in agriculture to communicate their aspirations for policy change directly to the Federal Government.
FFN then champions the actions from the YAC, keeping its community up to date on policy progress.
FFN chair Dan Korff said the event is the time young people in Australian agriculture have their voice heard when it comes to federal policy.
“The 2017 Youth Ag Council will be an opportunity for young people in agriculture to make a real difference and we want to do it effectively and efficiently,” Mr Korff said.
