THERE of­ten comes a time in sum­mer where you want to es­cape your hot kitchen, or head out on a sunny pic­nic with the fam­ily.

If this is you, then Rok­salt Fish and Chip­pery in Bright should be your desti­na­tion.

Lo­cated in Shop 4/1a Camp Street in Bright, the shop has been a lo­cal in­sti­tu­tion for a num­ber of years, but has been run by life­long Bright res­i­dent Raph Baris for al­most three years.

Rok­salt of­fers fresh, hand­cut chips, seafood and other fast food treats with a dif­fer­ence, in­clud­ing tem­pura car­rots and as­para­gus, fresh fish, home­made sauces, home­made fish cakes and much more.

All tem­pura items are gluten free, to cater for those who are coeli­acs or are gluten in­tol­er­ant. All items are fried in veg­etable oil. For those who pre­fer a lighter op­tion, Rok­salt’s sig­na­ture gar­den salad is very pop­u­lar with lo­cals and visi­tors alike, and flies out the door dur­ing the sum­mer months.

The shop is cur­rently tak­ing or­ders for Christ­mas seafood.

Rok­salt Fish and Chip­pery is open Wed­nes­dayMon­day, but closed Tues­day, but dur­ing school hol­i­days is open seven days a week.
