Au­thor’s legacy cel­e­brated

THE legacy of cel­e­brated au­thor Henry Han­del Richard­son will once again be cel­e­brated in Chiltern on Jan­uary 3.

This year, the Henry Han­del Richard­son cel­e­bra­tions, held at Chiltern’s Lake View House, will fea­ture renowned film, tele­vi­sion and opera di­rec­tor Bruce Beresford de­liv­er­ing the Henry Han­del Richard­son So­ci­ety Ora­tion.

A pro­lific di­rec­tor who has di­rected such films as Breaker Mo­rant and Driv­ing Miss Daisy, one of Mr Beresford’s ear­li­est film tri­umphs was an adap­ta­tion of the Henry Han­del Richard­son clas­sic The Get­ting of Wis­dom.

Mr Beresford is also a pa­tron of the Henry Han­del Richard­son So­ci­ety of Aus­tralia.

The day’s events will also in­clude a pic­nic tea and much more.
