Traditional bakery in Yackandandah
IT is safe to say that Yackandandah Bakery is known by countless people for its traditional Australian pies, sausage rolls, baked goods and cakes.
Ann Laing, who runs the bakery alongside her experienced baker husband Thomas, said the bakery had a long list of loyal customers.
One Melbourne couple in particular are diehard fans of the bakery, and head to the bakery several times a year just to indulge in a freshly made afternoon tea.
Mrs Laing said the bakery does not deal in fast food, but rather “fresh food made fast”, and prides itself on using traditional, time honored recipes for their delicious food.
Items are made from scratch, with no premixes or preservatives, and are very popular all year around.
During the warmer months, there are a number of tempting bakery treats available aside from the perennial favorites of pies and sausage rolls.
Some of the lighter treats available at Yackandandah Bakery include quiche, salad, and lasagna; muesli, fresh berries and yoghurt for breakfast, ham/cheese/tomato croissants, toasties, wraps, foccacias and more.
The bakery is open seven days a week except Christmas day, from 7am-5pm.
