The mental health of fly-in, fly-out workers has again been addressed by the State Government, which has released an updated draft code for public consultation.

The Mentally Healthy Workplaces For Fly-in Fly-out Workers in the Resources and Construction Sectors code aims to help promote and maintain the mental health of FIFO workers.

Mines and Petroleum and Commerce and Industrial Relations Minister Bill Johnston said while this code of practice targeted FIFO workers in the resources and construction industries, its lessons could be applied across a range of sectors.

“The latest round of public consultation is another opportunity to ensure your voice is heard on the critical issue of mental health in the FIFO workforce,” he said.
