Fo­cus on mak­ing roads safe

There’s never an ex­cuse to place lives at risk on the road need­lessly.

Through the big­gest road safety sur­vey un­der­taken by more than 6750 Seven West Me­dia read­ers, mo­torists’ shock­ing driv­ing habits have been ex­posed.

Con­fronting sta­tis­tics un­cov­ered in­cluded one in seven WA mo­torists hav­ing lost some­one close to them on the roads, 64 per cent say­ing mo­bile phones were the big­gest safety is­sue and 75 per cent of re­spon­dents ad­mit­ting to touch­ing their phones while driv­ing. Mean­while, 68 per cent of mo­torists have been on the re­ceiv­ing end of road rage and one in 20 drink-driv­ers ad­mits to do­ing so again and again.

It’s no sur­prise road safety is a con­ver­sa­tion we’re all en­gaged in.
