Focus on making roads safe
There’s never an excuse to place lives at risk on the road needlessly.
Through the biggest road safety survey undertaken by more than 6750 Seven West Media readers, motorists’ shocking driving habits have been exposed.
Confronting statistics uncovered included one in seven WA motorists having lost someone close to them on the roads, 64 per cent saying mobile phones were the biggest safety issue and 75 per cent of respondents admitting to touching their phones while driving. Meanwhile, 68 per cent of motorists have been on the receiving end of road rage and one in 20 drink-drivers admits to doing so again and again.
It’s no surprise road safety is a conversation we’re all engaged in.
Recognising these habits within ourselves goes a long way towards implementing change. That’s why we are inviting you to join hundreds of others and make a personal pledge of your own towards safer driving on our roads.
