Yard sale for disability awareness
South Hedland residents are expected to gather on Saturday for the first official Community Yard Sale in support of Disability Awareness Week.
The event is planned to raise donations to support people with disability in the community and will take place at the JD Hardie Youth Centre from 9am-1pm.
Organiser and lifestyle solutions administrator Donna Litzow said about 20 stalls were planned to be set up as well as a gold coin donation sausage sizzle and raffle.
“It’s the first time it’s being held, we’ve been working on it for months for Disability Awareness Week — it’s about inclusion in the community,” she said. “Come on down.
“We have face painting, some unbelievable raffle donations, hot food, coffee from JD Hardie, popcorn and so much more.
“For all donations received you will be supporting people with disabilities in our community to be able to access various activities in and around the Pilbara.”
