Course ac­cred­i­ta­tion

A part­ner­ship to de­liver Bach­e­lor of Nurs­ing cour­ses to nurs­ing students in Port Hed­land gained ac­cred­i­ta­tion late last year.

Po­ten­tial nurses would be able to com­plete their stud­ies and train­ing in town through Cen­tral Queens­land Uni­ver­sity, us­ing the North Re­gional TAFE Health Fa­cil­ity in South Hed­land.

Students are ex­pected to be able to com­plete their first year of train­ing with NRT, then tran­si­tion to on­line study un­der a three-year full-time or sixyear part-time Bach­e­lor of Nurs­ing with CQUniver­sity’s study hub housed in the Cham­ber of Com­merce’s Web Busi­ness Hub.

Fu­ture grad­u­ates would be recog­nised by the Nurs­ing and Mid­wifery Board of Aus­tralia and el­i­gi­ble to ap­ply for reg­is­tra­tion as a reg­is­tered nurse to take roles in pub­lic and pri­vate hos­pi­tals.
