With a Pinot Gris to die-for, this bou­tique win­ery should be on high on your list. Its Saint Se­ries, fea­tur­ing eight to-die-for drops, cel­e­brates the wine­maker’s fam­ily’s time-hon­oured Ital­ian tra­di­tions, while its Lot 41 es­tate range com­prises six wines that have been per­fectly crafted to be re­gion­ally dis­tinc­tive.

Owned by Texas-raised Ja­cob New­man and wife Deb, this craft brew­ery is a ca­sual, wel­com­ing end-of-week hang­out. Take your own pic­nic, or fol­low their Face­book page to find out when the Old Mate’s BBQ Food Truck is parked out­side. Its tra­di­tional Usa-styled BBQ is the per­fect match to any of their eight brews. Chow down on their per­fectly cooked ribs as you en­joy a cool, cleans­ing ale.

20. GET AC­TIVE

For the out­doorsy, there are plenty of walk­ing and hik­ing tracks to ex­plore in the High­lands. Mans­field Re­serve is si­t­u­ated at the end of Mans­field Road in Bowral and fea­tures a set of linked walk­ing tracks that take around twenty min­utes to com­plete and en­sure you’ll see some na­tive flora and fauna.

The Forty Foot Falls walk be­gins at Lake Alexan­dra in Mit­tagong fol­lows the creek and takes you through lush fern for­est, fin­ish­ing at the Falls, where you can take a dip or soak your­self un­der the fall­ing wa­ter. The Bong Bong Track weaves be­tween Bur­radoo and Moss Vale and in­cludes roughly 8kms of scenic cy­cling and/or walk­ing paths.
