FLORALS can carry you all through the year and for summer they are all about having fun with fashion and embracing the joy and romance of warmer days and longer nights. Look for breezy floral styles in white base tones in lighter, natural fabrics like cotton or try a silk style which also has a sexy sheen for evenings. Pair a bold printed wrap dress with a metallic sandal, or a heel with a strong colour from your floral print, for a different take on holiday shine.

I’m personally loving this summer’s matching set trend. Not only are they a fun way to amp up your festive dressing without reaching for another cocktail dress, they take the ‘what do I wear with this skirt’ anxiety away, and they are practical to wear all day and then into the night with the simple change of a heel. And if you weren’t already convinced, you can mix and match the pieces with your work and weekend separates. Look for sets in beautiful fabrics like linen or crepe and be bold with a spot of stripe pattern.

Whether it’s an elegant dinner or a night out with the girls, throwing on a simple slip dress is such easy chic. The sleek silhouette, silken fabric and luxurious finishes can easily emphasise your femininity. If you’re not confident with a straight-falling style look for versions with panels under the bust and across the waist to break up the column shape. Fearful of looking like you are wearing a nightie? With the right accessories you will look stylish and sophisticated and an added biker or denim jacket on your shoulders will give an air of cool.

White would have to be the most perfect holiday colour. It’s festive, versatile, luxurious, and in our steamy summers, cool to wear. Kiss your LBD goodbye and make the LWD (Little White Dress) your go-to piece to live in all summer long. Whether its lace embellished, airy and flowing, midi or maxi length what typifies the white dress for this summer is that it requires minimal or no styling, which makes it an excellent choice for a go-to look that is relaxed and appropriate when time is tight.
