Kyla’s style

“My style is fairly varied, there’s a real smorgasbord of threads in my wardrobe. “Most days I wear hip hop inspired active wear because I teach nearly every day. I do receive awesome gifts from local clothing brands, which is lovely, and I like to give them a shout out or a photoshoot exchange.

“I love anything I feel comfortable in, overalls, crop t-shirts, soft cosy pants, oversized jackets/jumpers and Adidas kicks.

“I love to dress up for class and wear sequins, leotards, booty shorts, fishnets, red lipstick etc. That makes me feel powerful and sexy.”

When we asked Kyla to choose her favourite fashion item, she was stumped. “Gah – that’s a hard one,” she says. “I’m pretty obsessed with my Beyonce boots – as soon as I pop them on I feel like Super Woman.

“One of my students has just gifted me a beautiful long sleeve black lace leotard and I know it’s going to be greatly loved. “The other side of me treasures my black corduroy perfectly fitting overalls that I’ve had for years, I know my booty works wonders in them,” she laughs.

“Oh and I can’t forget my deep blue velvet jacket adorned with gold stars.”
