OUR APPRENTICE says …
Conditions were not ideal on the day, but Seb proved to me that with a bit of patience and preparation for every sequence, conditions can be overcome and even used to your advantage. Using ‘Manual’ all day felt strange at first but it all made sense in the end. Off-camera flash was also new to me and I was pleased with the effect, and I was impressed with some of the ultra-wide Tokina I borrowed from N-Photo for this shot. I have had my D5100 for about 18 months but I feel as though I gave it a proper workout, and I cannot wait to get out in better weather and put into practice all I learnt on the day. It was good to work with two true pros. Seb is a perfectionist when it comes to preparing a shot, I would say his technique is 90 per cent preparation and composition, 10 per cent snapping. Chris Smith is such a skilled rider who never once moaned at my multiple failed attempts to get the right shot!
