Chris says… Shoot­ing in bright sun means there’s a dan­ger of lens flare if you shoot with­out the sun be­hind you. So I rec­om­mend peo­ple shoot with lens hoods. How­ever, if you’re us­ing a fil­ter sys­tem, like the Lee sys­tem here, the stan­dard hood won’t fit around the holder. For that, you’ll need a spe­cific hood that fits onto the holder it­self. Or you can make a DIY hood out of card that sits just in front of the holder. It will block the light leaks and re­duce flare. If you don’t have one, just use your hand to block the light.
