Marumi DHG Super ND filters
£45/$62 www.kenro.co.uk
Variable ND filters are great for subtle light reduction, but Marumi has released two conventional NDs to help produce long exposures. The DHG Super ND500 will reduce the amount of light passing through your lens by nine stops, while the ND1000 holds back a full ten stops. Marumi claims this is achieved without introducing a colour cast, and we can believe this after recently testing its variable ND. Available in all common thread sizes from 49mm to 82m, each filter has an ultra-thin frame to avoid vignetting, plus coatings to resist reflections, water and oils. The rim of the filter also has a knurled finish, so it’s easier to grip while being attached or removed.
First impressions_
We’re constantly impressed by the consistent quality of Marumi filters and their accessible pricing. The eye-catching long exposure effects you get from these ND filters add more allure.
