Clipping

Not only can you use the histogram to create a well-exposed photo, you can also call upon clipping warning tools to compromise between creating a strong contrast, while preserving important detail. Capture NX-D’s Show Lost Highlights and Show Lost Shadows commands give you visual representation of which tones will print out with no detail (or be clipped), so you can tune your tone to reveal as much detail as possible.
