Helpful histograms

As well as helping us fix underexposed photos, histograms can enable us shoot correctly exposed shots on location. Many Nikons enable you to summon a histogram on the camera’s Live View display. You can adjust the aperture and shutter speed settings until the Live View histogram shows a healthy spread of shadows, midtones and highlights. You can then trigger the shutter knowing that your shot will be correctly exposed from the beginning and will need less postproduction correction in Capture NX-D.
