Our Apprentice says…

The next morning Tom and I visited a lake at a height of 9000ft. With next to no wind, the lake provided a wonderful mirror-like reflection in the foreground. There were no clouds, but a deep, rich blue coloured the lake and made it stand out. Tom advised me to include some of the path to the right of the frame to give the composition some structure, with the path leading through the frame, up towards Matterhorn. I also included a little grass in the foreground to give the photo some grounding and context.
