perspective control

-

nikon’s name for ‘tilt-shift’ lenses, these manual focus lenses have controls that both tilt and shift the optics of the lens relative to the image sensor plane. their main use is to reduce ‘converging verticals’ in architectural photography – the aspect that causes buildings to look as if they’re leaning backwards caused by the shooting angle of the lens being pointed upwards.
