Minimum focusing distance

The minimum focusing distance is the shortest distance a macro lens can focus. Notably, it is not measured from the front of the lens, as many people think, but between the focal plane mark on the camera body and the subject. You’ll usually find the minimum focusing distance stated on the lens barrel.
