Long Exposure Noise Reduction

-

During long exposures, photosites (pixels) on the image sensor heat up, which results in the appearance of random speckles of noise. Long Exposure Noise Reduction works by taking a second exposure with the shutter closed to create a ‘black’ frame that will have the same noise patterns. The camera subtracts this black frame from the first exposure to eliminate this noise.
