Our Apprentice says…

-

I was a bit stuck at where to begin, but Paul’s advice was spot-on. He said, “You start with light. Good light gives you a head start. It’s not the be-all and end-all, but if you start with bad light it’s almost impossible to recover from. Then pick your location. Outdoors we’re limited by the placement of the sun, and have to either move our model to get the light right, or wait until the sun has moved.” This struck me as the opposite to what you’d find in studio, where you can move the lights exactly where you want.
