I zoomed in close for this portrait shot of Johnny, making sure that the focus point was bang-on his closest eye before squeezing the shutter release to ensure that his face was pin-sharp. I love the way that the neck of the guitar is completely thrown out of focus due to the tight depth of field when shooting with the aperture wide open. As he was brightly lit from a floodlight, I stopped down the ISO to avoid the highlights being blown, but still had to adjust the Raw file extensively.
