-

it’s a high-tech, high-speed camera that’s Great for everything

Released (year): 2015 Price new: £899/$1099 Buy at MPB.COM today: excellent £559/$719 Good £489/$629

Launched three years ago, the D7200 is still available to buy new, even though it’s been superseded by the D7500. As well as being three years newer in design than your D5200, it’s a more enthusiast-level camera with advanced handling, features and performance. Key enhancements for wedding photography include a better autofocus system with more AF points and a larger number of highly accurate cross-type points; better low-light performance with an ISO range that stretches to ISO25,600 instead of 6400; and a better pentaprism, rather than pentamirror, viewfinder. Finer points include the ability to apply AF micro adjustments for individual lenses, and two (rather than one) card slots – great for creating backups of important wedding shots, right at the shooting stage.

Key points Quiet mode

Advanced drive modes include a ‘Quiet’ shooting option that can be useful during the wedding service or ceremony. High-speed continuous shooting benefits from a large buffer.

Secondary info screen

A key difference in high-end cameras, compared with the mid-range D5200, is that you get an extra info LCD on the top panel. It’s ideal for keeping track of important shooting settings.

Handling

Extra control buttons and a sub-command dial at the front improve access to advanced shooting settings.
