Expert insight editing workflow
Tracey usually shoots hundreds of photos at a gig, so has developed this workflow to quickly whittle them down to a manageable number and efficiently process photographs – as picture editors demand to see the final print-ready shots as quickly as possible.
Step 1
Star-rate the best shots in Bridge – looking for the best body poses or expressions. Open them in ACR and Select All, so your edits are applied to all the shots. As they’re shot with similar settings and lighting, the basic processing will be similar.
Step 2
Adjust the exposure of one shot to your liking in the Basic panel. Moving to the Tone Curve panel, increase Lights and Darks, but leave Highlights and Shadows. Then move to the Sharpening panel. Tracey’s go-to adjustments are Amount 115 and Radius 1.15.
Step 3
Look at each shot individually, and make further exposure tweaks, rejecting those that don’t make the grade on closer inspection. Back in Bridge, go to File>file Info>basic and edit the Description to include details such as the artist, venue and date.
