EXPERT INSIGHT APPLYING TEXTURES

-

Trudy says… I think of the starting photo as a blank canvas and the textures as a palette of paints. I cycle through my whole library of textures and experiment. Some of my textures look vibrant and wacky. Initially, you might never think to use them, but it’s surprising what can work when you place it over your starting image. You can edit textures on the fly too, by changing the hue, vibrance and saturation, and by applying a filter or simply altering the blending mode. Where you place the texture is also important, what doesn’t work on the sky might look fantastic over the foreground.
