Magical mist

-

Misty and foggy conditions are beautiful, adding mystery and mood to photos. There are different forms of mist and fog, but arguably the most photogenic is ‘radiation fog.’ This is most likely to occur on clear nights, when the land cools by radiating the heat up into the atmosphere. When the air nearest the ground cools, the water vapour in the atmosphere becomes visible as mist in the air and dew on the ground. A low wind speed of below 8kph/5mph is desirable, so check the forecast the night before and, if it looks good, start to plan your shoot!
