I can’t justify spending Q £1800 on the latest Nikon AF-S 24-70mm f/2.8e lens. How would a secondhand ‘G’ version of the lens compare? Gary Heath

The main advantage of the latest ‘E’ version of the lens is that it adds optical Vibration Reduction, lacking in the older ‘G’ lens, but they’re both fully pro-grade lenses.
