Hide and seek
One great option for local wildlife photography is to work with portable hides. Concealing your outline, hides come in a variety of styles, from freestanding tent designs to more ‘cape-like’ bag hides. Both help blend you into the environment. More comfortable than simply lying in wait for your subjects, hides offer some shelter from the elements, plus options for a chair and more comfortable seating that can feel rather luxurious for the wildlife photographer! I almost always have my bag hide in my rucksack, offering the option to immediately have a little more concealment when on location.
