NX Studio is a new free software application from Nikon that allows you to edit still images and movies. NX Studio replaces both Viewnx-i and Capture NX-D and incorporates the main functionality from both applications into a single easyto-use free application.
When you install NX Studio it will replace Viewnx-i, if already installed. NX Studio supports all Nikon DSLRS released since the D1. The NX Studio interface has been redesigned to include an easier-to-use, modern UI with the convenience of using a single application to attain good image quality and colour reproduction when editing images. The workspace is customizable using the View and Window menus. The filmstrip can be moved from a horizontal bar at the bottom of the screen to a vertical bar at the left side of the screen.
Navigation of your image folder structure and album controls are positioned on the left of the screen, with the main layout options across the top of the screen. Editing adjustments are located on the right of the screen as well as the histogram display, EXIF and keyword tools.
Images processed in NX Studio deliver good-quality edits with realistic colours and impressive shadow recovery from the Active D-lighting settings. NX Studio will also read and apply existing adjustments from Viewnx-i and Capture NX-D, meaning you can upgrade without having to redo previous edits.
