NORTHERN LIGHTS

This image of the Northern Lights was captured on a photo expedition I led in Alaska. On this night there was a good show of lights and a little moonlight, which helped light the foreground landscape. Including the hut with the open door and red lights helped to add interest.

HIMBA GIRL

I photographed this young Himba girl in a remote part of Namibia with my Nikon D850 and 70-200mm f/2.8. The exposure was set manually for the background and I used an off-camera Speedlight in a softbox to provide a beautiful soft light on her face.

FISHING FOR SALMON

I captured this ‘holy grail’ image of a bear fishing for salmon in Alaska. A bright overcast day allowed me to get a good exposure on the white water and the dark bear, which faced the right direction to have light in its eye just at the crucial moment.
